Falkirk situated in the heart of Scotland has been the site of 2 major battles in Scotland's history, with William Wallace's defeat here in 1298 when he was betrayed by the nobles and also Bonnie Price Charlie won a battle against the English here in 1746. In the modern day Falkirk is most famous for the Falkirk Wheel which is the worlds only rotating boat lift of its kind.
