Dundee sits on the east coast and the Tay river separates it from fife to the south. It is referred to as the "City of Discovery" and this is in reference to the famous ship of the same name which resides in the harbour in Dundee. Dundee has many claims to fame which include being the first city in the world to have electric street lights and also being the birth place of James Chalmers who invented the postage stamp.
